EAST COAST
The East Coast is Australia’s most popular stretch for good reason. Sydney welcomes you with its world-famous harbour, Opera House and nearby beaches, while further north the Gold Coast and Byron Bay are made for surfers and sunshine seekers. Brisbane is a relaxed riverside city with easy access to Moreton Island and just beyond lies Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. Continuing up the coast brings you to the Whitsundays, a collection of islands surrounded by turquoise waters and the pure white sands of Whitehaven Beach. At the top of the journey sits Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the ancient Daintree Rainforest, where reef and rainforest meet in spectacular style.

WEST COAST
Less travelled but every bit as rewarding, the West Coast is where you’ll find wide open beaches, pristine reefs and a slower pace of life. Perth combines laid-back coastal charm with excellent food and wine and nearby Rottnest Island is home to the friendly quokka. Further north, Ningaloo Reef offers the rare chance to swim with whale sharks, while Coral Bay and Exmouth deliver some of the clearest snorkelling straight off the beach. Karijini National Park is a standout, with its gorges, waterfalls and swimming holes set deep in the red earth. The distances may be vast, but the reward is a coastline that feels wild, untouched and wonderfully different from the east.

THE OUTBACK
Australia’s heart lies in the Outback, where landscapes feel timeless and spiritual. Uluru is the country’s most iconic landmark, rising out of the desert with colours that shift at sunrise and sunset. Nearby Kata Tjuta offers equally dramatic rock formations, while Alice Springs provides a gateway to Aboriginal culture and desert adventures. Further afield, the Kimberley in Western Australia is one of the world’s last great wildernesses, with towering gorges, hidden waterfalls and ancient rock art. Travelling through the Outback offers a sense of scale and stillness you won’t find anywhere else, it’s the true essence of Australia.
